Spain’s

One of the popular dessert items in Spain is Tarta de Queso. Its English name is Basque Cheesecake. It is a type of Cheesecake with a light and creamy texture and has a caramelized top. It is very simple to make and you can make this delicious Tarta de Queso on your own. And desserts you make on your own taste even sweeter!

Now, for the ingredients, the main ingredient is cream cheese, or as they call it in Spain ‘Philadelphia’. Then we need some sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. Please use heavy cream as it will give a better flavor than using low-fat or no-fat. Lastly, some flour and an alternate option are to sprinkle some sea salt after baking the batter in the oven.

And because everyone is unique and likes different kinds of flavor we will mention four more alternatives to make your Tarta de Queso even more personalized and suitable for your taste. For the gluten-free people out there, you can switch flour to gluten-free flour. If you like the citrusy taste you can consider adding the batter with some orange zest or lemon zest. Adding bourbon is also a good option. Swap the heavy cream with bourbon. Lastly, you can add a topping of your choice. It can be anything, chocolate sauce, caramel sauce, or fresh fruit toppings all of which would be delicious when paired with cheesecake.

If preparing milk powder Jamun using yogurt or lemon is the key. The soda will react with yogurt and make the dough nice and light. This will result in soft jamuns.

South Korea

If you have been keeping up with the trends, you must have witnessed South Korea’s rise to fame. Traditional Korean dishes like bulgogi, tteokbokki, kimbap, etc have become very popular. But due to the popularity of Squid Game (It’s a popular Netflix Korean drama with a lot of gore scenes so viewers’ discretion is advisable). In that drama, there was a game where they made Dalgona. Once that episode was out every single person online was trying to make Dalgona candy. Similarly, South Korea has many tasty desserts to offer. A simple yet delicious dessert is Bingsu.

Bingsu is easy to make at home with only three ingredients. They are nice, red sweet beans and condensed milk. This is the best dessert to cool you down after a hot summer day outside. The shavings of ice are put in a bowl. You can add your own favorite toppings like watermelon, mango, condensed milk, and also any of your favorite syrups. Simple to make, yet very tasty addition to our list of favorite desserts.

France

France is well known for its tasty bread and pretty pastries. It’s not a surprise that France made it to our list. One of the favorite desserts from France includes Creme Brulee. Creme Brulee is a tasty pudding like a baked custard. There is a brittle top made of hardened sugar syrup. To eat this, you take the spoon and lightly tap the top and break the sugar crust. This way, in each bite you will get the crunchiness from the sugar crust as well as the creamy custard below. This too can be topped off with chopped fruits like mango or strawberry. But the traditional way is plain vanilla topped with a sugar crust.

To make Creme Brulee we have three basic steps: making the custard, baking the custard, and making the sugar crust. Heat the sugar, cream, and vanilla bean in a saucepan. Whisk some yolks and sugar together. Add the warm cream to this mixture slowly and in the vanilla bean. This is your cream. Bake the custard and then chill it in the refrigerator. Before serving this delicious custard add sugar to the top and torch the sugar till the sugar melts and forms a thin layer over the custard. That’s it! Your tasty Creme Brulee will be ready.

Italy

Tiramisu also known as Tuscan Trifle is a very famous dessert not only in Italy but all over the world. Tiramisu translates to pick me up. This dessert is made with the perfect balance between sweet and bitter. Traditionally, there is a bit of alcohol from the ladyfingers soaked in the boozy coffee flavor, giving it that bitter taste. The alcohol used is Marsala wine but many use rum and coffee instead.

Tiramisu is coffee flavored and is made up of three layers of whipped cream, egg yolk filling, and coffee-soaked ladyfingers. So, the ingredients are egg yolks, sugar, milk, heavy cream, vanilla, mascarpone (traditional Italian cheese which is a key ingredient in Tiramisu), coffee, rum, ladyfingers, and lastly cocoa powder. Four steps to make Tiramisu include Making the filling, making the whipped cream, soaking the ladyfingers, and finally assembling the tiramisu. Tiramisu is usually served cold, so once made, store it in the refrigerator. You can also freeze the tiramisu and save it for up to three months.

Cheesecake

Not only is cheesecake tasty, but it also has a rich history dating back to up to 2500 years ago in the fifth century BC. The ancient Greeks on the island of Samos had made the earliest known cheesecake. This cheesecake was made of patties of fresh cheese which were then pounded smooth with honey and flour. During this time, cheesecake was considered an amazing source of energy. The evidence shows that it was served to the athletes during the Olympic Games in 776 BC.  Cheesecake was also a popular choice as a wedding dessert.

The first English cookbook was written in 1390. It included multiple versions of the recipe for cheesecake. Because the English liked their cheesecake, it wasn’t long before this delicacy made its way to the American colonies. During the 1730’s Philadelphia had become home to the “Cheesecake House” tavern.

The Ingredients

Making the cheesecake batter is rather simple. The difficult part is determining the perfect baking time. If the cheesecake is under-baked, then it would be too runny to taste good. Overbaked would result in the cake being way too stiff. The right texture for the cheesecake is for it to be a little bouncy, fluffy, and of course tasty. The ingredients for cheesecake include a block of cream cheese, sugar, sour cream, vanilla extract, and eggs. Make sure all the ingredients are at room temperature when mixed. This ensures that the batter will be smooth with any lumps. And since today we are starting with traditional recipes, the traditional recipe for cheesecake has a graham cracker base. Graham crackers mixed with a little butter mixed with granulated sugar and flattened on the baking pan. Use little butter because that way it remains crunchy.

On this base add the batter and bake it in a water bath. Why a water bath? Cheesecake loves a humid environment. The hot steam will slowly make the batter rise and ensure no cracks on the top of the cheesecake. Another way to prevent the cracks from forming on the top is by cooling it in the oven first for around an hour. Four tips for a perfectly baked cheesecake are not over mixing the batter, baking in a water bath, leaving the cheesecake in the oven to cool down for an hour, and cooling at room temperature only.

Cheesecake toppings

To make your cheesecake a little more fancy and flavorful, you can add an array of toppings to your cheesecake. Before the commonly used toppings, we must address the recent trending Oreo cheesecake recipe. Yes!  Oreo cheesecake is real! From adding oreo bits in the batter to make oreo cheesecake or topping the cheesecake with Oreos. Oreo cheesecake has become a popular choice for cheesecake lovers. To make this in a simplified way you can just crush the oreo biscuits and add them to the batter before baking. But for a crunchier taste, you can add it to the top and enjoy your Oreo cheesecake.

Aside from Oreo cheesecake, there are four toppings too. These are the traditionally used sauces.

Raspberry Sauce

It is one of the most frequently used sauces as a topping on cheesecake. You can make the raspberry sauce at home itself. All you will need is water, cornstarch, fresh berries (if they aren’t in season then frozen ones would do), sugar, and lemon juice. To make the sauce, just simply add this to a pan on the stove. Boil this mixture with occasional stirring. In order to remove the seeds, strain the mixture using a mesh strainer. Let it cool for some time and done! You can add this sauce over your cheesecake and enjoy a tangy sweet sauce along with a nice crunchy and fluffy cheesecake.

Chocolate Ganache

Homemade chocolate Ganache can make a tasty addition to your cheesecake. And it isn’t that difficult to make. You can make Chocolate Ganache in less than 10 minutes! To make Chocolate Ganache you need only two items i.e. Heavy cream or Heavy whipping cream together with pure chocolate.  Please don’t use low-fat milk because it will not be the best-tasting alternative. If you want you may canned coconut milk. For the chocolate part, you may use bitter chocolate, milk chocolate, or semi-sweet chocolate. We recommend semi-sweet chocolate.

Strawberry sauce

Strawberry sauce is another sauce topping choice for cheesecake lovers. You can top this sauce with some freshly chopped strawberries for a berrylicious taste. To make the strawberry sauce, you need cornstarch, warm water, strawberries sliced in half or you can use frozen ones too, lemon juice and zest, and lastly, sugar. Whisk the cornstarch and water together and add it to a saucepan with the rest of the ingredients and stir it, breaking some of the strawberries. Bring it to a simmer and allow the mixture to cool. After the mixture cools, it will automatically thicken. Serve it a little warm or completely cold. If it’s too thick after cooling, pop it in the microwave for a few seconds to thin it out.

Lemon curd

If lemon or citrus-flavored desserts are your jam, then you’re absolutely going to love this recipe. It’s buttery, and sweet and has that insanely tasty lemon flavor that will make your dessert more interesting. The ingredients for lemon curd are large egg yolks, granulated sugar, lemon zest, lemon juice, unsalted butter, and salt. Tip to make your Lemon curd better: Lemon is acidic and will react with the inside of your pot while preparing this. Due to this, there might be a metallic aftertaste in your Lemon curd. This is easily avoidable if you use non-metallic double boilers or glass for making it.
